Quakertown Band Celebrating 135th Year!

2012 marks the 135th anniversary of the band!!

2012 marks the 135th consecutive year of musical performances for The Quakertown Band! As musicians, we are excited and honored to play in one the oldest and most respected community bands in the United States, and we are very thankful for the many listeners who love and support the Quakertown Band. We have some great plans for to celebrate such a milestone anniversary, after all, there aren't that many groups that have been doing what they do for 135 years!

So, we are calling 2012 "The Magic of Music" and the music we play at our concerts will feature "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blues". We have commissioned four different composers to write new music for performance for us this year and the pieces are wonderful! We have guest artists playing with us. We are partnering with The Hilarious Magic of Sam Sandler at a few of our concerts and he will mystify and amaze, while we fill the air with the music that you love to listen to.

And in addition to our normal free community concerts, we're happy to announce that we are also going to play a free concert at the Quakertown Community Pool so you can frolic in the water and enjoy the live band at the same time. We also will be featuring some of the very best high school music students from the Quakertown and surrounding areas in our spring concert, and a solo competition in the fall!
